Well I finally finished this series, though I watched the 5th movie instead of reading the 5th book. In my opinion the books’ quality goes in order from best to worst: 3, 4, 1, 6, 2, 5, 7. But then I didn’t read the 5th one, so I’m judging this based on the movie and what other people have told me. I was a little unhappy with the ending to 7.
Possible Spoilers Below the Cut…
I really wanted Harry to stay dead. It was far to happy of an ending, and the deaths, except the elf, were fairly… nonplussing, she didn’t really make me care that the people that died died. Also I was pissed that Hermione and Ron didn’t play major roles in the conclusion of the story. Voldemort also was practically a non-character. Evil for the sake of evil? Right… At least it gives me ideas for my own Good Versus Evil story, in the “things not to do” category.
