My name is Mark Johnson. I am a free culture advocate, a writer, a learner of Japanese and a teacher of English. I live in rural Japan. I like to walk in the woods, climb on rocks, and swim in rivers and under waterfalls and the like.

How was the Japanese language program at Keio like? I’m going to Keio this fall and hoping to work for JET as ALT in the future too! x)
I didn’t enjoy it much at all. I really hated living in Tokyo, being out here in Kochi prefecture suits me much more. Wherever you go I recommend studying for at least a year, don’t settle for a semester.
