There’s a pattern used in businesses for product development. First a product is conceived of. Then it is designed and prototyped. Once the working prototype is ready it is tested. Testing reveals problems with the design and suboptimal performance. Observations made during testing are then considered, the product is redesigned, the redesign is prototyped and tested, and the test results are considered again for the next iteration.

I’ve been drawing a great deal of inspiration from a Yoda quote lately. I think it usually goes unreferenced, even by most Star Wars fans. During Luke’s training with Yoda on Dagobah, Yoda tells Luke, “Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.”

I have been realizing lately, that in a world-view without inherent meaning, where the rituals and ceremonies of religion and the imposed goals and stereotypes of value in life are irrelevant, that we must create significance for ourselves, or not.

Simulation [Writing Stub]
Augustus slapped on his SimGlass and blinked into his personna. His armor of black scutes grew around him and his mind flickered as parts of his brain remapped to control his expanding draconic wings. His mind focused again and his glaive appeared in his hands, his pride after months of work. He brandished it and the blade gleamed in the false sun’s light.
